Maleficent will perform in the mid range of recent fairy tales reboots like Alice In Wonderland, Oz the Great and Powerful and Snow White and the Huntsman.  I'm sure given Jolie's box-office strength overseas it's in for a killing worldwide.  I do wonder if the film might be held back by how dark it looks, but it is the first non-superhero family friendly film in a good while.  Also opening is Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways To Die in the West, which I thought would make a lot more but its buzz has flat lined in recent weeks.
