Dark Knight will be the top story for the next several weekends. Though reviews aren't quite as fantastic as The Dark Knight (thanks, Heath!), the film is still being greeted with genuine enthusiasm. Dark Knight ended up with $533m domestic, and I see this new installment ending up just shy of that. Keep in mind, The Avengers has the 3D aspect to boost it. Then again, Rises has lots of interest in IMAX. So who knows? All the films in the top 10 will see drops, though Moonrise, Mike and the family films will be least hurt.

I'm happy Anne's Catwoman is getting solid reaction. Much as I love her - and I've said this a million times before, she wasn't my top choice. That was a revolving list of Charlize Theron, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt and Rises costar Marion Cotillard.

Here are the top 10 openings of all time:
1. The Avengers - $207.4
2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 - $169.2
3. The Dark Knight - $158.4
4. The Hunger Games - $152.5
5. Spider-Man 3 - $151.1
6. The Twilight Saga: New Moon - $142.8
7. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 - $138.1
8. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - $135.6
9. Iron Man 2 - $128.1
10. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 - $125.0

Hard to believe that the first movie to gross more than $100m in one weekend - Spider-Man - opened 10 years ago. It's currently at #13, with 21 films opened to $100m+ weekends.
