Another year, another Spider-Man reboot. This one is blessed by being in the Marvel Universe, which many are predicting will give the franchise the bump it needs. I'm playing it a little safe. Despicable Me 3 disappointed in its opening, but with only one other animated film this summer it should have legs. Baby Driver proved to be a surprise, and if it shows legs it has an outside shot at $100m. The Big Sick continues to impress, and is following a similar trajectory as Amazon's Manchester by the Sea. Kind of odd comparison to make, but here we are.
