Globe Dix!

TV First!

Supporting Actress - All TV:
Aduba - Froggatt - King - Light - Tierney
Winner: Regina King - American Crime
alt: Judith Light - Transparent
As usual with this category, any of them could win.

Supporting Actor - All TV:
Cumming - Lewis - Mendelsohn - Menzies - Slater
Winner: Ben Mendelsohn - Bloodline
alt: Tobias Menzies - Outlander
Again, any of them. Except maybe Cumming.

Actress - Movie/Limited Series:
Dunst - Hay - Huffman - Gaga - Latifah
Winner: Kirsten Dunst - Fargo
alt: Lady Gaga - American Horror Story: Hotel
Felicity and Queen have a small chance. It's weird that Cannes aside, this will be the first major award Kirsten has ever won.

Actor - Movie/Limited Series:
Elba - Isaac - Oyelowo - Rylance - Wilson
Winner: Oscar Isaac - Show Me a Hero
alt: Idris Elba - Luther
This might be dependent on who wins Supporting in Film.

Actress - Comedy/Musical:
Bloom - Curtis - Louis-Dreyfus - Rodriguez - Tomlin
Winner: Julia Louis-Dreyfus - Veep
alt: Gina Rodriguez - Jane the Virgin
I've been predicting Julia to take this since forever. Bloom could surprise, though.

Actor - Comedy/Musical:
Ansari - Bernal - Forte - Lowe - Stewart - Tambor
Winner: Jeffrey Tambor - Transparent
alt: Aziz Ansari - Master of None
Definitely one of those two.

Actress - Drama:
Balfe - Davis - Green - Henson - Wright
Winner: Taraji P. Henson - Empire
alt: Caitriona Balfe - Outlander
Empire's buzz may have died off, but I think Taraji still has this.

Actor - Drama:
Hamm - Malek - Moura - Odenkirk - Schreiber
Winner: Rami Malek - Mr. Robot
alt: Bob Odenkirk - Better Call Saul
I guess they could give it to Jon Hamm for old times sake, but I think the much buzzed about Rami has this on lock.

TV Movie/Limited Series:
American Crime - American Horror Story: Hotel - Fargo - Flesh and Bone - Wolf Hall
Winner: Fargo
alt: American Crime
Fargo wins Limited Series. Again. Not so limited, I guess.

Series - Comedy/Musical:
Casual - Mozart In the Jungle - Orange Is the New Black - Silicon Valley - Transparent - Veep
Winner: Transparent
alt: Veep
Yup.

Series - Drama:
Empire - Game of Thrones - Mr. Robot - Narcos - Outlander
Winner: Game of Thrones
alt: Outlander
LOL I guess I'm being brave here. Most are predicting Robot, but I feel that will be rewarded with Rami. The Globes have yet to reward Game of Thrones, so here's the best chance. I'll probably regret this prediction.

MOVIES!

Animated Feature:
Anomalisa - The Good Dinosaur - Inside Out - The Peanuts Movie - Shaun the Sheep Movie
Winner: Inside Out
alt: Anomalisa
Easy squeezy.

Foreign Language Film:
Brand New Testament - The Club - The Fencer - Mustang - Son of Saul
Winner: Son of Saul
alt: Mustang
Done deal, though sometimes they go random.

Original Song:
Fifty Shades - Furious 7 - Love and Mercy - Spectre - Youth
Winner: "One Kind of Love" - Love and Mercy
alt: "See You Again" - Furious 7
With the Oscars disqualifying the Brian Wilson song, that will help it.

Original Score:
Carol - Danish Girl - Hateful Eight - Revenant - Steve Jobs
Winner: The Hateful Eight
alt: Carol
Carol could win if they want to give it a win somewhere.

Supporting Actress:
Fonda - Jason Leigh - Mirren - Vikander - Winslet
Winner: Alicia Vikander - Ex Machina
alt: Jennifer Jason Leigh - The Hateful Eight
It's probably between those two. Vikander being a double nominee and having no chance in her other category gives her the edge.

Supporting Actor:
Dano - Elba - Rylance - Shannon - Stallone
Winner: Mark Rylance - Bridge of Spies
alt: Sylvester Stallone - Creed
Probably. I think Elba has a small chance, too.

Screenplay:
The Big Short - The Hateful Eight - Room - Spotlight - Steve Jobs
Winner: Spotlight
alt: The Big Short
Photo finish with these two.

Actress - Comedy/Musical:
Lawrence - McCarthy - Schumer - Smith - Tomlin
Winner: Amy Schumer - Trainwreck
alt: Jennifer Lawrence - Joy
Melissa probably has the least chance of winning. I really want Lily to win but her buzz has been completely died. It's between the blonde BFFs.

Actor - Comedy/Musical:
Bale - Carell - Damon - Pacino - Ruffalo
Winner: Matt Damon - The Martian
alt: Steve Carell - The Big Short
Matt probably has this locked.

Actress - Drama:
Blanchett - Larson - Mara - Ronan - Vikander
Winner: Brie Larson - Room
alt: Saoirse Ronan - Brooklyn
This might decide the Oscar race. If Ronan does win, she's probably winning everything.

Actor - Drama:
Cranston - DiCaprio - Fassbender - Redmayne - Smith
Winner: Leonardo DiCaprio - The Revenant
alt: Bryan Cranston - Trumbo
Leo is sweeping straight through. Enjoy your seats, other men competing for this.

Director:
Haynes - Inarritu - McCarthy - Miller - Scott
Winner: George Miller - Mad Max: Fury Road
alt: Ridley Scott - The Martian
I really hope George wins this. He damn well better.

Film - Comedy/Musical:
The Big Short - Joy - The Martian - Spy - Trainwreck
Winner: The Big Shot
alt: The Martian
A month ago I would have said the opposite, but Big Short is coming on strong.

Film - Drama:
Carol - Mad Max: Fury Road - The Revenant - Room - Spotlight
Winner: Spotlight
alt: Mad Max: Fury Road
With Carol right behind.
