I would have thought a few weeks back that Jupiter Ascending would be a shoe-in to win this weekend, but buzz has died and reviews are mostly negative. SpongeBob should be able to take advantage of the dearth of family films, as it's the only one for youngsters until Cinderella arrives in March. Seventh Son has done oddly well overseas, arriving after years of delays. It'll be lucky to break into double digits, though. American Sniper fell harder than expected last weekend, and it's likelihood of being the highest grossing 2014 film might be in danger. The hold this week will tell, given the two very high profile R-rated films arriving next week.
