Globe Predictions

Nominees here.

I'll do TV first, because I don't care too much about those.  They have a tendency to be random.

Alt: Sofia Vergara - Modern Family

Actor In a Supporting Role - All TV: Ed Harris - Game Change
Alt: Mandy Patinkin - Homeland

Actress In a Mini-Series/TV Movie: Julianne Moore - Game Change

Alt: Julia Louis-Dreyfus - Veep

Actor - TV Comedy/Musical: Louis CK - Louie
Alt: Jim Parsons - The Big Bang Theory

TV Comedy/Musical: Girls
Alt: Modern Family

(Why is Nashville in Drama, but Smash is in Musical/Comedy???)

FILM!!!

Best Original Song: Skyfall - "Skyfall"
Alt: Les Miserables - "Suddenly"
Though I suppose they could also want to make Taylor Swift a Globe winner.  Any smart person would choose Adele.

Best Original Score: Anna Karenina
Alt: Life of Pi
I hope Cloud Atlas wins, given it didn't get the Oscar nom.

Best Animated Feature: Frankenweenie
Alt: Wreck-It Ralph
I should probably switch them.  Boo on them for not nominating ParaNorman

Best Foreign Language Film: Amour
Alt: The Intouchables
I guess Harvey could buy Intouchables the win, but Amour should have this locked down.

Best Screenplay: Lincoln
Alt: Argo

Best Supporting Actor: Tommy Lee Jones - Lincoln
Alt: Leonardo DiCaprio - Django Unchained.
Hmm, I think any of them could win.  It would be hilarious if Leo wins without showing up anywhere else this year.  I won't even call it starfucking!

Best Supporting Actress: Anne Hathaway - Les Miserables
Alt: Sally Field - Lincoln
Haters to the left.

Best Actor - Comedy/Musical: Bradley Cooper - Silver Linings Playbook
Alt: Hugh Jackman - Les Miserables
I went back and forth on this.  Weinstein prevails.

Best Actress - Comedy/Musical: Jennifer Lawrence - Silver Linings Playbook
I'm not bothering with an alternate.

Best Actor - Drama: Daniel Day-Lewis - Lincoln
I'm not bothering with an alternate.

Best Actress - Drama: Jessica Chastain - Zero Dark Thirty
Alt: Naomi Watts - The Impossible
If Naomi wins, watch out!

Best Director: Ben Affleck - Argo
Alt: Steven Spielberg - Lincoln
I'm sure this speech by Affleck will be even more fun, especially after a few drinks in him.  For some reason, I keep thinking they'll give it to Kathryn Bigelow, making up for The Hurt Locker.

Best Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical: Silver Linings Playbook
Alt: Les Miserables
For the longest time, I thought Les Miserables had this.  Not anymore!

Best Motion Picture - Drama: Lincoln
Alt: Argo
