1. The Hunger Games - $58m / $249m / $375m
2. Wrath of the Titans - $38m / $38m / $104m
3. Mirror Mirror - $25m / $25m / $90m
4. 21 Jump Street - $12m / $90m / $120m
5. Lorax - $7m / $188.5m / $212m
6. John Carter - $2m / $66.5m / $71m
So Hunger Games ended up HUGE! Even more shocking, Mirror Mirror is supposed to be good??? Crazy year so far. Beyond #6, there's a bunch of films that will only make a million. April looks fairly lackluster with maybe a few sleepers potentially breaking out - Cabin In the Woods and The Five Year Engagement.

Box: I said Jennifer Lawrence would be a big star two years ago.
Just sayin.
1. The Hunger Games - $105m / $105m / $285m
2. 21 Jump Street - $23.5m / $74m / $135m
3. The Lorax - $14.5m / $178.5m / $230m
4. John Carter - $7.5m / $65m / $85m
5. Project X - $2m / $52m / $57m
Act of Valor - $2m / $66m / $71m
A Thousand Words - $2m / $15m / $20m
Not worth guessing anything beyond that. My question is will Hunger Games level everything in its path or will everything else just have modest drops given its the only release this week. It is hard to tell where everything else will stand, as word of mouth on 21 Jump Street is fantastic and it seems like the only film that will be safe in Hunger's shadow.

"Prometheus" and "Snow White & the Huntsman" trailers - GO CHARLIZE!
Hard to say which one is more impressive. While many fanboys no doubt put on clean pants after the Prometheus trailer debuted to wide acclaim on Saturday, you're gonna need a new pair with this brand new Snow White trailer. Jeez, Charlize is really gonna own 2012. Too bad she wasn't Catwoman! Even Kristen Stewart looks impressive! And yes, I'd love to see Chris Hemsworth and Michael Fassbender in my own, ahem, fairy tale.

"Dark Shadows" trailer
I don't think I've seen a more angered reaction to a trailer in my lifetime. While much of the cast has said this is NOT a comedy, the marketing folk at Warner Brothers will have you believe different causing fans of the original series to riot. Admittedly, I'm sick of Johnny Depp. I'm especially sick of Tim Burton Johnny Depp. If I see him in pale makeup again in my life, it will be too soon. All this aside, I'm not a non-fan of this trailer. It looks fun and kinda Beetlejuice-y. Chloe Grace Moretz, fab as usual, looks like a great fit for the Burtonverse. And Hey! There's Michelle Pfeiffer. Never a bad thing. Of course, everyone agrees the very best thing about this trailer is Eva Green. I'm not a huge fan of hers, but she looks so deliciously vampy here. While Dark Shadows fans are sharpening their pitchforks, ready to storm the Warner lot and the Burton-Bonham Carter mansion, here's the trailer.

Box: Chew on Some Channing To Cure Your Hunger Pains for the Hunger Games
1. 21 Jump Street - $28m / $28m / $100m
2. The Lorax - $24m / $160m / $240m
3. John Carter - $16m / $57m / $90m
4. Project X - $6.5m / $51m / $64m
5. Act of Valor - $4m / $62.5m / $71m
6. A Thousand Words - $3.5m / $12m / $18m
7. Safe House - $3m / $120.5m / $127m
8. Journey 2 - $2.5m / $95m / $100m
The Vow - $2.5m / $121.5m / $127m
Silent House - $2.5m / $11m / $16m
I may have lowballed 21 Jump, but I think it'll be more about its total than its opening. The buzz is huge right now. Balls, openings, huge - CHANNING TATUM! So if Magic Mike becomes a huge hit, that means he's our biggest male star?!??!

"The Loved Ones" trailer

What, Darren? Two trailers in a row? Yes, sweeties, we're in the off season. I may even put up some reviews! After you've picked yourself off the floor and dusted the shock off, check out this trailer for the Aussie horror flick. The film was released in 2009 and will be hitting American theatres this June though Paramount's Insurge Pictures. The word on the film is quite good, which bothers me. As someone who actively seeks out great horror films with a focus lately on overseas entries, I'm a little miffed I hadn't heard about this supposed gem until Saturday. Funny how I can't recall the last great, totally American horror film (House of the Devil? Before that: May?) but the foreign output (28 Days Later, Wolf Creek, The Descent, Let the Right One In) the past decade has been putting us Americans to shame.
Here's the original trailer:

"On the Road" trailer
It's hard to believe this still isn't out yet? I believe I heard there's some kind of legal battles between production companies that has delayed it. It looks pretty spectacular. It should.
Hedlund's voice just does it for me.

Box: In Which Olsen #3 Does More Than Eddie Murphy
1. The Lorax - $40m / $124m / $240m
2. John Carter - $28m / $28m / $85m
3. Project X - $10.5m / $39.5m / $60m
4. Silent House - $10m / $10m / $25m
5. Act of Valor - $7.5m / $56.5m / $74m
6. A Thousand Words - $5m / $5m / $14m
7. Safe House - $4m / $115m / $125m
8. Good Deeds - $3.5m / $31m / $39m
Journey 2 - $3.5m / $90.5m / $100m
The Vow - $3.5m / $117m / $126m
The Lorax will do more this weekend than I projected it to last weekend. John Carter could similarly overperform but it could also go the way of last year's Mars Needs Moms. With Hunger Games in two weeks, things are looking very good for 2012's box-office. But, really, America? Project X?????
